MAKE A WISH CHARITABLE TREK

This year, Skyline Adventures will continue their support for the Make-A-Wish Foundation by offering a trip that will donate all of its proceeds to this astoundingly compassionate organization. Make a Wish is a charity organization that grants wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions, helping to enrich their young lives with hope, strength, and joy. In 2010, we are offering a Make-A-Wish fundraising trek up the Santa Cruz valley. Dates are being kept flexible at present to allow for maximum participation. Once we gather enough interest to run the trek (minimum of 3), we will set the dates and advertise as such to attract even more participants. ITINERARY - SANTA CRUZ TREK

DAY	ACTIVITY
1	Private pick-up at the Lima Airport. Transfer to hotel in Lima for a nice meal & a good night's sleep.
2	Transport to Huaraz via first class bus leaving Lima at 9:00am, arriving at 5pm. Brief orientation meeting, dinner, and bed!
3	Orientation meeting to review itinerary, gear needs, ask questions. Short acclimatization hike just outside of town in the afternoon.
4	Acclimatization hike to lake Churup and return to Huaraz for the night.
5	Pack your bags! Depart Huaraz and drive to the small village of Cashapampa to meet your donkeys and begin your trek up the beautiful Santa Cruz Valley. Hike about 4 hours before setting up camp and settling in for the evening in an area called Llamacorral.
6	Continue hiking up the valley 5-7 hours towards the first pass of the trek (Punta Union 4750 meters). Camp before the pass near the popular Alpamayo base camp. Optional trip up to see the base camp.
7	Hike up and over Punta Union and descend to about 4200 meters where a nice camp awaits. Hiking time, 6-7 hours.
8	Continue your hike towards the town of Vaqueria where your vehicle pick-up awaits. Hiking time, 4-5 hours. Have lunch and transport back to Huaraz for the well deserved warm shower and celebration banquet.
9	Take the day bus from Huaraz to Lima and transport to the airport for your flight back home!

Trip Includes:

   *    All in-country transport during trip, including transport to and from the Lima airport
   *    First class bus tickets between Lima and Huaraz
   *    Hotel accommodations for specified time in Lima and Huaraz
   *    Professional, English speaking guide for acclimatization activities and climbs/treks
   *    Professional outdoor cook, 3 healthy meals a day plus snacks during the wilderness components of the trip
   *    All park entrance fees
   *    All camping & cooking equipment which is not included in the gear list
   *    Donkeys to carry the load for the duration of trek (participants will carry a light daypack)
   *    Sleeping tents, sleeping mats (foam)
   *    Cook tent, eating tent, tables, chairs, and bathroom tent (where applicable)
   *    First aid kit stocked for wilderness expeditions
   *    Celebration banquet at the end of trip

Not Included:

   *    International flights to/from Lima and applicable airport taxes
   *    Personal clothing and equipment (see gear list)
   *    All food during in-town days with the exception of the Celebration Banquet
   *    Incidental personal expenditures, including emergency evacuations and medical expenditures
   *    Travel, Personal, and/or medical insurance
